The Division of Student Affairs is an organization in the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) intended to assist students with financial aid, studying, counseling, campus involvement, graduation, and career assistance. The organization was originally the Student Activities Committee (alternatively known as the Committee on Student Activities) between 1958 and 1969. It was later renamed as the Office of Student Personal Services in 1970, and then the Office of Student Affairs. The Division of Student Affairs is a collection of departments involved with campus programs, services, and activities such as Student Services, the Student Union, student disciplinary divisions, and educational services. Other services include creating reports on student life and activities, assessing campus issues such as student organization effectiveness, staff shortages, building maintenance, on-campus housing and dining, and vandalism.
