Charles Joseph Hirsch was born in New York City, New York in 1912 and attended Pace University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting and Business Administration in 1938. In 1950, Hirsch was hired by the Golden Nugget, Inc. in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he served as Chief Accounting Officer, Controller, and Assistant Corporate Secretary until 1970. Charles J. Hirsch passed away on July 3, 2002.
