The collection includes images of the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, McCarran International Airport, vintage airplanes, air shows, and assorted events and people, including Richard M. Erle A. Taylor (1919-1996) served as the Director of Aviation for Clark County, Nevada in the 1970s and oversaw operations at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada as well as regional airports in Searchlight, Jean, and Overton, Nevada.

Materials were donated in 1977 by Erle A. Taylor; accession numbers T108 and 77-228.
In 2018, as part of an archival backlog elimination project, Christina Lamoureux and Jimmy Chang wrote the finding aid and entered the data into ArchivesSpace. In 2019, revised the collection description to bring it into compliance with current professional standards.
