The negative and one postcard depicts Walter Edward Perry Scott, also known as "Death Valley Scotty" or "Scotty the Desert Mystery," a well-known prospector and the namesake of Scotty's Castle in Death Valley National Park, California. Frank Benham co-owned a real estate business and served as assistant postmaster for Goldfield in the early 1900s.
