The Las Vegas Literary Club was formed in 1937 by Della Wittwer, Louella Throton, and Erma Stewart in Las Vegas, Nevada. The first meeting was held on September 19, 1937 in the home of Della Wittwer, who was elected president of the group. The success of the Literary Club was noted in a local paper each month. The club was organized as a social and cultural club. Two social events were held each year for the entertainment of members and their husbands.
