Erle A. Taylor (1919-1996) served as the aviation director of Clark County, Nevada in the 1970s and oversaw operations at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, as well as small airports in Searchlight, Jean, and Overton, Nevada.

Materials were donated in 1977 by Erle A. Taylor; accession numbers T108 and 77-228.
Materials were processed by Special Collections staff. In 2015, as part of a legacy finding aid conversion project, Angela Moor revised and enhanced the collection description to bring it into compliance with current professional standards. In 2018, Angela Moor processed additional materials and revised the finding aid.
