The Clark County Central Labor Council Records date from 1938 to 1968 and represent Ragnold Fyhen's written account of how the Clark County Central Labor Council union was formed. The work includes the activities and meetings of the labor union and Fyhen's work (1933-1947) while Secretary-Treasurer of the Central Labor Council. This work is entitled "Labor Notes." Additionally the collection contains a resolution submitted to the Central Labor Council in 1938 in regards to proposing new legislation to regulate the Clark County hospital.

The Clark County Central Labor Council was created in 1934 as a labor union for machinists in construction work. The union's first president was engineer D. M. Leigh. During the 1930s the Central Labor Council was most active in Boulder City, Nevada where Ragnald Fyhen and the other original members met working under Six Companies, Inc., a construction company responsible for building the Hoover Dam. During the 1930s Boulder City was only accessible with a permit and anyone without a permit or job was removed from the city. This fact was often used to remove anyone that tried to start a labor union in the area. The Clark County Central Labor Council union assisted in many worker strikes and in filing suits against companies for job related injury and neglect, during the building of Boulder (Hoover) Dam.

In 2015, as part of a legacy finding aid conversion project, Hana Gutierrez created the collection description and entered the data into ArchivesSpace. In 2018, as part of an archival backlog elimination project, Sarah Jones revised the collection description to bring it into compliance with current professional standards.
