The Wayne C. Kodey Photographs (1971-2010) consist of 35mm and medium format photographic negatives, positives, and slides featuring the work of former Las Vegas Review-Journal staff photographer Wayne C. Kodey. The photographs include assignments for the Review-Journal and other publications documenting sporting events, entertainment, and general news and special interest stories throughout the Las Vegas Valley and southern Nevada. The collection also contains Kodey’s off-assignment photographic work, which consists of national parks, railroads, landscapes of the Mojave Desert and southwestern United States, and family travels.

Wayne C. Kodey moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to work for the Las Vegas Review-Journal as a staff photographer in 1979. He photographed news assignments throughout the Las Vegas Valley and southern Nevada for the Review-Journal and was also a contributing photographer to national publications, such as USA Today and Sports Illustrated. Kodey retired from the Review-Journal in 1995. Wayne and his wife, photographer Geri Kodey, ran a local photography equipment store, Casey’s Cameras, from 1995 to 2013. As of 2026, Wayne C. Kodey resides in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In 2025, Landon Paljusaj accessioned the collection. In 2025 and 2026, Alyssa Lalos and Sarah Jones rehoused the photographic negatives into archival sleeves and folders, and Landon Paljusaj arranged and described the materials and wrote the finding aid in ArchivesSpace.
