Station Casinos was founded by Frank Fertitta Jr. in 1976. As of 2019, it operates twenty casino and entertainment properties in the Las Vegas, Nevada region, and one Native American gaming property in California. Over ninety percent of the Las Vegas population is situated within five miles of a Station Casinos gaming property.

In 2019, as part of an archival backlog elimination project, Nia Banks, Miguel Dominguez, and Brooks Whittaker compiled the materials from multiple sources that included subject files and previously cataloged material, and wrote the finding aid.
