The UNLV University Libraries Photographs of the Jewish Community of Southern Nevada (2015-2018) are comprised of digital images captured as part of the Southern Nevada Jewish Heritage Project. The photographs include members of the Southern Nevada Jewish community, synagogues Temple Beth Sholom (current and original site), Congregation Ner Tamid (including aerials), Chabad of Las Vegas, Temple Sinai, and Midbar Kodesh Temple. There are also photographs of The Desert Torah Academy's Robert Cohen Educational Campus, the future site of Chabad of Green Valley, the Holocaust Resource Center, Manpower Las Vegas’s 50th anniversary celebration, and the House of Straus.

"The Southern Nevada Jewish Heritage Project at the UNLV University Libraries is a multi-year initiative to collect, preserve, and provide access to primary sources documenting the history of the Jewish community of Southern Nevada. The project's goals are to conduct oral histories that capture first hand testimony about Jewish life in Las Vegas; to seek personal and organizational archives about the community and ensure their preservation; to provide online access to selected historical resources that support research, teaching, and learning; and to engage the Jewish and Las Vegas communities in appreciation of this rich history."

Aaron Mayes has been a photographer in Southern Nevada since the early 1990s starting at the

Materials were received periodically in 2016, 2017, and 2022; accession numbers 2016-025, 2016-034, 2017-026, and 2022-114.
In 2017, Karla Irwin created the collection-level finding aid and processed the 2016 and 2017 digital files. In 2022, Sarah Jones processed the last accession and created the item-level inventory using the provided description from Aaron Mayes.
