The Eddie Hawk Jim Family Papers (1891-2011) contain newspaper clippings, photographs, school, cemetary, and census records pertaining to the Jim family, a Paiute family from the Pahrump, Nevada region. The newspaper articles document the general public's perspective of events involving the Paiute people living in the Pahrump Valley region. The photographs depict Mary Scott, Alice Jim, Long Jim, and other relatives of the Jim family during the 1940s and 1950s. Additional photographs include a larger group of tribal members gathered in 2011 at Mt. Charleston, Nevada.

Oral history interview with Celese Rayford conducted by Phillip Walley on November 14, 2015 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Rayford discusses her career as an educator in Las Vegas, Nevada. She begins by describing her upbringing in Las Vegas, the Westside community of Las Vegas, and attending Spellman College in Atlanta, Georgia. Rayford then discusses her involvement with Top Teens of America and how that program helps to prepare young girls for college.

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Theses, Dissertations, and Honors Papers (approximately 1967-2025) contain the physical copies of the theses, dissertations, and honors papers filed by students of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) from 1967 to 2025. There are approximately 5,756 titles that originate from a wide variety of departments across the UNLV campus, including (but not limited to): history, criminal justice, fine arts, engineering, and the sciences.

Oral history interview with Norma de la Cerna Tolbert conducted by Claytee D. White on June 25, 2013 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Tolbert discusess her career as a professional dancer from the age of fifteen. She begins by describing her early childhood in Houston, Texas, moving to Chicago, Illinois where she began to study dance, and leaving home at fifteen years old to go to Atlantic City, New Jersey to dance in professional productions.

Oral history interview with James Jones Jr. conducted by Barbara Tabach on February 28, 2013 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Jones discusses growing up in Waverly and Tallulah, Louisiana in the 1940s. He talks about moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1959, his initial impressions of the city, and his employment at the Nevada Test Site. Jones then describes race discrimination on the Strip, the type of jobs available to African Americans, and his experiences living on the Westside. Later, Jones recalls seeing Sammy Davis Jr.

Oral history interview with Louis Conner conducted by John Grygo on March 22, 2013 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Conner discusses his personal history and growing up in Tallulah, Louisiana. He talks about moving to Las Vegas, Nevada with his family for job opportunities in the late 1950s. Conner describes his employment at the Stardust Hotel, segregation, and living in West Las Vegas. He then talks about integration in the mid-1960s, Jackson Street entertainment, and the changing demographic of the Westside.

Oral history interview with Charles Roland conducted by Claytee D. White on August 16, 2012 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. Roland begins by describing why his family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1952 and attending Las Vegas High School. He discusses the African American community in Las Vegas, working in a restaurant called Sill's Drive-In, and his father, who opened the Hamburger Heaven restaurants. Roland also discusses race relations in Las Vegas prior to integration, the Binion family, and how Las Vegas has changed.

The David L. Weide Research Papers (approximately 1954-2000) are comprised of materials that represent Weide's research on geographical issues in the western United States. Collection materials include reports, U.S. Geologic Survey maps, and field notes as well as scholarly articles published by Weide. The collection also includes Weide's notes from classes and research from when he was a graduate student at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Oral history interview with Dorothy, Alice, and Marva Love conducted by Claytee D. White on February 11, 2015 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Dorothy discusses her personal history and moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1961. She describes the city at the time, living in West Las Vegas, and raising her children there. Alice and Marva, Dorothy's daughters, then talk about their educational experiences in Las Vegas and growing up in the Westside community.

Oral history interview with Harriet Barlow conducted by Elsha Harris-Tolanda on April 27, 2015 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Barlow discusses her personal history and growing up in Robbins, Illinois. She talks about her education, discrimination in schools, and the process of school integration. Barlow then recalls her first impressions of Las Vegas, Nevada and her employment at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
