John Lester Luckman (1924-1987) was the founder of Gambler’s Book Club, a Las Vegas, Nevada-based publishing house for books about gambling. The collection contains photocopied manuscripts for three books published by the Gambler’s Book Club, written and edited by Ken Uston and Roger Rapoport, John Montgomery, and John K. Hutchens. Copies of all three books are available in UNLV Special Collections stacks.

The Ken "Nevada" Maines Papers (approximately 1960-1980) contains items written by Maines, including sheet music for his songs "Fremont Street," "My Name Is Love," and "My Little Polish Rose," a poem, and a flier "Hints for Handicappers." There is a printout of an article on Maines that appeared in the Las Vegas Sun. The collection also contains various sound recordings, some of which Maines composed.

The Las Vegas Thoroughbred Racing Association Stock Certificates (1951) consist of Las Vegas Thoroughbred Racing Association (LVTRA) shareholder stock certificates and associated correspondence. The stock certificates certify that Miguel G. Jimenez in Los Angeles, California and Vilhelm V. Christensen of Lynwood, California own shares of LVTRA. The LVTRA, organized in 1950 to build a racetrack in Las Vegas, Nevada, was financially unsuccessful and became the subject of a bankruptcy proceeding.

The collection is comprised of records that document Nancy Cummings-Schmidt's career as a librarian for the Clark County Library District from 1975 to 1981. Collection includes biographical information, photographs of the Sunrise Branch Library renovation, photographs and brochures about summer reading programs at the Clark County Library from 1975 to 1980, and documentation about the 1980 Energy Expo.

The George W. Malone Papers (1928-1933) consist of a bound volume of letters, documents, speeches, reports, and maps pertaining to Malone's various positions held including Nevada State Engineer, National Executive Committeeman for the American Legion, President of the Association of Western Engineers; Secretary for the Colorado River Commission, and a member of the Nevada State Range Commission. Also included are two publications relating to his time as U.S. Senator for Nevada.
