Description
Note: Passage inside menu describes Evacuation Day as occurring on July 11, 1796, when the British formally left Detroit and the American flag was first flown over the city. Cover illustration shows the lowering of the British flag over Fort Detroit and raising of the U.S. flag over a nearby gunboat. Cover is also illustrated with U.S. flags, sabers, laurel leaves, a shield with an eagle, red, white and blue ribbon, and 3-dimensional brass fleurs-de-lis.
