Oral history interview with Fannie Carr-Thomas conducted by Claytee D. White on December 05, 2015 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Carr-Thomas discusses her early life in Las Vegas, Nevada and the neighborhood she grew up in. She describes her visits to Hawthorne, Nevada and talks about the casinos there. Carr-Thomas then recalls working with her father in construction and seeing for herself the growth of Las Vegas.

Oral history interview with Jerry Lockhart conducted by O’Sheyon Rollins on April 17, 2015 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Lockhart discusses his personal history and moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1965 after transferring to Nevada Southern University (now University of Nevada, Las Vegas). He talks of his impressions of the city at the time, his first accounting job at Southwest Gas Corporation, and his employment with the Internal Revenue Services (IRS) in the 1970s.

Oral history interview roundtable with the Austin Family and Chazz Young conducted by Claytee D. White on August 06, 2014 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, the Austin family discusses their dance school, Austin Dancers, which they brought with them when they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada from New York City, New York in 1993.

Oral history interview with Lee Washington conducted by Aleya Ford Wheaton on November 30, 2014 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Washington discusses his personal history, moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1963, and his initial reactions to the city. He talks about his employment at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino as well as joining the Culinary Workers Union in 1974. Washington then describes church activity that he and his family were involved in at Most High Church and his church's significance to the West Las Vegas community.

The Stardust Hotel and Desert Inn Hotel Photographic Negatives collection consists of black-and-white photographic negatives depicting the Stardust and Desert Inn hotels from approximately 1962 to 1967. The images depict annual and one-time events held at both hotels, including sporting events such as golf and tennis, fashion shows and beauty contests, weddings, and conventions for local and national associations. A significant amount of the collection documents the long running Lido de Paris show at the Stardust.

Oral history interviews with Cynthia and Edward Watson conducted by Claytee D. White on March 28, 2014 and May 13, 2014 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. Edward begins by discussing his upbringing in Illinois, being adopted by his grandmother, and how issues regarding his custody arose after his grandmother died.

Oral history interview with Willard Booth conducted by Larmaya Kilgore on November 14, 2014 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Booth discusses his personal history and moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1956. He describes his employment at the Sands Hotel and Casino and later at the Thunderbird Hotel and Casino. Booth then talks about segregation issues for African Americans working on the Las Vegas Strip. Later, Booth discusses his involvement with the Second Baptist Church and describes the work he would do for the church.

The Paul E. Meacham Faculty Papers (approximately 1977-1998) are comprised of articles and reports relating to the development of community colleges as well as organization and administration in higher education throughout the United States. The collection also includes course readers for EDA 731 Organization and Administration in Higher Education taught at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

The Crockett Family Photographs (1911-2022) consist of photographic prints, newspaper articles, and scrapbooks documenting Alamo Airport (later Harry Reid International Airport) and the Crockett family. Photographs of the interior, exterior, and airfield at Alamo Airport, including aerial views, document the early stages of what is now one of the busiest international airports in the United States. A significant portion of the collection consists of photographs of the Crockett family at their home in Las Vegas, at various events, and on family vacations.

Oral history interview with Roy Brown conducted by John Grygo on March 05, 2013 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Brown discusses his personal history and living in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1954. He recalls moving to West Las Vegas and attending segregated schools at the time. Brown then talks about the positive influence that church and spirituality have on the Westside community.
