José Luis Gutiérrez oral history interview: transcript
Oral history interview with José Luis Gutiérrez conducted by Maribel Estrada Calderón and Barbara Tabach on October 1, 2018 for the Latinx Voices of Southern Nevada Oral History Project. Also present during this interview is José's close friend Sergio Salgado, who was interviewed separately for the Latinx Voices project in 2018. José discusses his early life growing up in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and his migration to Tijuana and then Santa Barbara, California as a teenager. He talks about his restaurant employment history both in California and in Las Vegas, including his time working at the Jolly Parrot, the Dunes Hotel and Casino, and his own eatery: Tortilleria Los Arcos. Subjects discussed include: Tortilleria Los Arcos; Club Social Mexicano.

Frank Gagliardi Music Manuscript Collection
The Frank Gagliardi Music Manuscript Collection (approximately 1964-1974) contains musical arrangements of standard Frank Sinatra songs, printed or photocopied with annotations. Each part is in its own folder, and each song is numbered. Frank Gagliardi performed as percussionist in Antonio Morelli's orchestra for the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he played for Frank Sinatra and other notable entertainers during the 1960s and 1970s.

Mike Malone Papers
The Mike Malone Papers (1979-1996) document the legislative activities of Mike Malone, a former Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Officer. Malone was a Nevada State Assemblyman from 1979 to 1985 and a State Senator from 1986 to 1990. The papers highlight the work of the committees Malone was on during his time in those offices, and include senate and assembly bills, campaign materials, newspaper clippings, letters from Malone to constituents, and minute books primarily from the 1983 and 1989 legislative sessions.

Southern Nevada Historical Society Records
The Southern Nevada Historical Society Records document the management and development of the Southern Nevada Historical Society (SNHS) as well as various historical projects in Las Vegas and Southern Nevada that the society sponsored from 1948 to 1983. The records include SNHS correspondence (1951-1978), meeting minutes (1958-1983), and accounting information (1959-1980). It also contains copies of the SNHS Backtrails Newsletter, promotional material for events, membership lists, and research materials for various projects related to the history of southern Nevada and Las Vegas.

John Ponticello Papers
The John Ponticello Papers are comprised of materials related to Ponticello's experiences in Las Vegas, Nevada between 1956 and 1971 with an emphasis on his Research Gambling Game Project, which he conducted and published between 1968 and 1971. The collection includes materials regarding gaming licenses and applications, research agreements, descriptions of the project, and publications about the research project. Also included are materials from Ponticello's experiences in Las Vegas such as business cards, county work cards, and souvenir photographs.

Jack Livingston and Jacquelynn Smith Papers
The collection is comprise of correspondence, magazines, photographs, and brochures relating to the Nevada Test Site outside of Las Vegas, Nevada and the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory in New Mexico dating from 1942 to 2002. The collection was compiled by Jack Livingston and Jacquelynn Smith during their time working at various defense industry locations.
