Oral history interview with Betty Garren conducted by Joyce Marshall on May 02, 1997 for the Women's Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN) Las Vegas Women Oral History Project. Garren opens her interview by discussing her young adult life in California. She then talks about her first night out in Las Vegas, Nevada. Garren discusses her experiences as an executive secretary at the Last Frontier and the types of jobs available to women in casinos. Garren also describes the amenities available at the Last Frontier and the El Rancho Vegas.

Oral history interview with Byron Thornton conducted by Kay Harris on October 27, 1986 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Thornton discusses his personal history and arriving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1931. Thornton then recalls working for the Las Vegas Gas Company and starting his own concrete business. Lastly, Thornton describes installing petroleum gas tanks and pipes inside of homes used for testing atomic bombs at the Nevada Test Site and recalls the destruction caused by the explosions.

Oral history interview with Betty Francisco conducted by Joanne Goodwin on August 12, 2002 for the Women's Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN) Las Vegas Women Oral History Project. Francisco opens her interview by discussing her early life in Arizona and California. Francisco then talks about her dance career in Las Vegas, Nevada, starting with her work at the Dunes Hotel. Francisco also discusses working for choreographer Harold Minsky. Finally, Francisco describes common dancer experiences, such as getting injured or sick.

Oral history interview with Jessie Emmett conducted by Irene Rostine on October 16, 1996 for the Women's Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN) Las Vegas Women Oral History Project. Emmett discusses moving from Southern California to Nevada for her husband's job at the Nevada Test Site in 1954. Emmett goes on to discuss working at the New Frontier Hotel briefly, and her eventual decision to go into real estate. Emmett then talks about creating a real estate agent training program, and about the work environment for women real estate agents.

Oral history interview with Alda May and George Williams conducted by Jay Brewer on April 09, 1975 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Alda and George discuss the history of Boulder City, Nevada. Alda describes arriving to Boulder City in 1931 and recalls moving into one of the first homes built there. George then talks about working on the Boulder (Hoover) Dam and describes the various jobs he had at the dam. The two then discuss social life in Boulder City and how it changed as the population increased.

Oral history interviews with Joan Driscoll conducted by Kay Long on April 10, 1997 and April 17, 1997 for the Women's Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN) Las Vegas Women Oral History Project. Driscoll talks about her experiences as a juror on a federal grand jury that investigated organized crime in Nevada. Driscoll also briefly discusses her family history, her family's origins in Iowa, and her experiences moving to the West.

Oral history interview with Nadean L. Voss conducted by Laura Bell on March 03, 1975 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Voss discusses her personal history and the history of Boulder City, Nevada. Voss describes moving to Boulder City in 1933 and what life was like in the city. She also describes the construction of the Hoover Dam (Boulder Dam), visiting the growing Lake Mead, and how Boulder City has changed. Voss goes on to discuss her career working for the Bureau of Reclamation and desert wildlife.

Oral history interview with Toni Carter conducted by Irene Rostine on March 06, 1992 for the Women's Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN) Las Vegas Women Oral History Project. Carter discusses working as a researcher for Basic Magnesium Inc. in Henderson, Nevada during World War II. Carter then talks about being laid off after the war, but returning to work for the plant when management changed. Carter describes her research in working to create combustible formulas for incendiary bombs. Carter also talks briefly about working conditions for researchers.

Oral history interview with Jon Vogel conducted by Carol A. Fitzgerald on March 29, 1976 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Vogel discusses his personal history in Las Vegas, Nevada. Vogel describes moving to Las Vegas as a child in 1943 and growing up in the city. He talks about his cement and landscaping business and the projects he has worked on for the city of Las Vegas. Vogel's wife, Tootie Vogel, later joins the interview, and together they discuss musicians and entertainment in Las Vegas.

Oral history interview with Mara Vlaovich conducted by her grandson, Michael J. Vlaovich, on February 23, 1976 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Vlaovich discusses immigrating to Goldfield, Nevada in 1910 from the former Yugoslavia. Vlaovich describes life in Goldfield during the early twentieth century, as well as what the working conditions were like for miners. She talks about witnessing a major flood in Goldfield, which swept away houses and animals, as well as what childbirth was like in the rural town.
