Oral history interview with Phyllis Syzdek conducted by an unknown fifth grader on April 24, 2009 and is part of the UNLV University Libraries Oral History Collection. Syzdek opens her interview by discussing her childhood during the Great Depression, and moving around the United States often as her father searched for work. She then talks about moving to a small farm town in Colorado for her high school years. Sydek then recalls December 07, 1941 and where she was when she found out about the Pearl Harbor bombing.

Oral history interview with Alex Shoofey conducted by David G. Schwartz on March 13, 2003 for the Remembering Jay Sarno Oral History Project. In this interview, Shoofey discusses his personal history as an orphan in Brooklyn, New York. He describes his experience with casino owner Kirk Kerkorian, opening of the Flamingo Hotel, and the clientele that junkets brought to the Las Vegas, Nevada casinos. Shoofey discusses opening the International Hotel and Casino in 1969 and talks about designing the procedures for operating the casino.

Oral history interview with Carye St. Claire conducted by Claytee D. White on July 02, 2008 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. St. Claire begins the interview by discussing her upbringing in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she was born in 1948. She details riding around the city on a horse before the area became more developed and how she learned to dance. St. Claire discusses her career as a showgirl, the audition process, and performing at the Aladdin Hotel and Casino with comedian Richard Pryor.

Oral history interview with Heidi Sarno Straus conducted by A. D. Hopkins on April 04, 1999 for the Las Vegas Review-Journal First 100 Oral History Project. In this interview, Straus discusses her personal history and the life of her father, Jay Sarno. She recalls living at Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada and describes what it was like living in casinos with her family. Straus discusses the opening of Circus Circus Hotel and Casino and hosting parties in the hotel rooms as a teenager. Lastly, Straus talks about the changes in her fathers’ hotels in Las Vegas.

Oral history interview with Helen Joy Stadler conducted by Claytee D. White on August 21, 2012 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. Stadler begins the interview by talking about moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1942 with her boyfriend who purchased a beverage distribution company on the Strip. Stadler recalls their apartment on 7th Street and Fremont and working at nearby hotels. She discussed the nightlife, shows, and performers at the El Rancho Hotel and Casino and the Frontier Hotel.

Oral history interview with Pete Menefee conducted by Su Kim Chung on April 14, 2016 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. Menefee begins the interview by talking about his childhood in San Diego, California, where he took dancing classes starting at the age of ten. He discusses working as a dancer on shows starring Dick Van Dyke, Terry Gar, Goldie Hawn, and Elvis. Menefee recalls working in shows and musicals including Bye Bye Birdie, Fair Lady, and Viva Las Vegas.

Oral history interview with Lillian and Jonathan Sarno conducted by David G. Schwartz on February 08, 2007 for the Remembering Jay Sarno Oral History Project. In this interview, Lillian discusses her personal history and experiences with her brother-in-law Jay Sarno. Jonathan talks about growing up with Jay and shares anecdotes of their childhood. Later, Jonathan and Lillian discuss the businesses that Jay was involved in, the opening of his various hotels and casinos around the United States, and the opening of Caesars Palace Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
