Oral history interview with Glenn Shaw conducted by Shirley Leavitt on February 05, 2004 for the History of the Blue Diamond Village in Nevada Oral History Project. Shaw discusses moving to Blue Diamond, Nevada in 1977, where he purchased an acre of land for $4,000. He also discusses his role in funding the construction of Avery Road in Blue Diamond Village in 1978. He highlights the changes in the Village between the 1980s and 2000s, namely the changes to the Blue Diamond mine, the library, and telephone lines.

Oral history interview with Darrel Waldthausen conducted by Gretchen Schroeder on May 10, 2008 for the History of Blue Diamond Village in Nevada Oral History Project. In this interview, Waldthausen discusses his personal history and arriving to Blue Diamond, Nevada in 1946. He describes living in the Blue Diamond village and attending the Blue Diamond school. Waldthausen then talks about the operations that were done at the mines and recalls the separate village near the mines. Lastly, he discusses moving to Guatemala in 1972 after buying real estate and building a home.

Oral history interview with Glenn Dale Richardson conducted by George Bogdanovich on January 29, 2013 for the History of Blue Diamond Village in Nevada Oral History Project. In this interview, Richardson discusses his personal history and arriving to Blue Diamond, Nevada in 1951. He describes living at the Oliver Ranch as caretaker for cattle and chickens. Richardson then talks about his father’s employment as a mechanic for Blue Diamond Mining company. Lastly, Richardson describes living on Mount Charleston near Las Vegas, Nevada.

Oral history interview with Mary C. Hurtado conducted by Angie DeLong and Sophie Romani on May 27, 2008 for the History of Blue Diamond Village in Nevada Oral History Project. Hurtado opens her interview by recalling her third grade year at the Arden School in Blue Diamond, Nevada. Hurtado describes her favorite teacher, Ruby Danny. She then describes other teachers at the school, her childhood in the 1920s in Blue Diamond, and community events such as gift giving during the Christmas season.

Oral history interview with Celesta Lowe conducted by Patrick Carlton on February 6, 2002 for the Las Vegas Rotary Club Oral History Project. Lowe begins by discussing her early life in Baker, California and her father’s role as a station agent for the Tonopah Tidewater Railroad during the 1920s and 1930s. Lowe then describes her family moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in the 1940s. Lowe chronicles the process state legislatures took to open Nevada Southern University in 1957 and her role as an administrative assistant in the main office of the school.

Oral history interview with Sonny Richardson conducted by an unknown interviewer on January 23, 2007 for the History of Blue Diamond Village in Nevada Oral History Project. Richardson opens his interview by discussing moving to Blue Diamond, Nevada in the 1940s to work at the Blue Diamond gypsum processing plant. He recalls returning to Blue Diamond after World War II and moving back and forth from Las Vegas, Nevada to Blue Diamond throughout the years. He recalls the families that lived in Blue Diamond, the layout of the town, and the recreation activities in the area.

Oral history interview with Richard Ham conducted by Dennis McBride on January 18, 2002 for the Las Vegas Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Archives Oral History Project. In this interview, Ham discusses the assault of Nevada Supreme Court Justice Frank McNamee in 1965. Ham describes being accused by McNamee of being a communist, McNamee's sexuality, and how McNamee was able to succeed politically despite being a gay man. He continues, discussing the history of the trial following McNamee's assault, and also describes other aspects of Nevada's political history during that time.

Oral history interview with Hazel Shadowen conducted by Patricia van Betten on March 30, 2004 for the History of Blue Diamond Village in Nevada Oral History Project. In this interview, Shadowen discusses her personal history and moving to Blue Diamond, Nevada in the late 1930s. She describes her husband's employment at the Blue Diamond and Searchlight, Nevada mines and living at a mining village. Shadowen talks about the cost of living at the time, medical services in the mining village, and resources that were provided for the residents.
